forest learning adventures

Gillian Traverse runs nature connection and forest learning activities for holiday makers on the Old Lands estate. She is a qualified Forest School practitioner/trainer, a nature lover and a bushcraft experimenter. Activities happen in pretty much all weathers throughout the year, exploring the wilds, playing games, creating and crafting from natural materials, building dens and, when possible, making campfire food. These sessions are currently offered to individual families and their relatives or friendship groups staying in our cottages with a range of appropriate activities that will encourage play, creativity and exploration of the natural environment. For older children and teens, when weather permits, there is the opportunity to develop more refined skills using hand tools, learning fire-lighting techniques, smelting pewter or experimenting with natural dyes.

Sessions last for up to two hours and fees will be appropriate to the size of the group.  Please book well in advance as availability may be limited at busy times.
